Understanding the Power of Memes

January 17 2021

Memes are popular forms of social commentary in cyberspace. They are seen by many as a harmless way to make friends and share ideas. For some they are a form of self-expression and can help relieve stress. Others use them as weapons of the ignorant to belittle others. Regardless of the intent, the internet has been consumed by Memes for many years.

A meme is usually a thought, behavior, or design that becomes a cultural trend and spread from individual to individual within a society and often carries cultural meaning reflecting a particular theme or phenomena. The term "Meme" was coined by Internet pioneer Tim Cook, who noted the popularity of the phrase "thing about" in Internet searches. In essence, a trend is defined as a current trend that continues over a period of time, sometimes weeks, sometimes months, and sometimes years.

One type of Trend is known as the "Fad." A popular example of a Trend is the ongoing "cyber Monday" sale on eBay. This trend became so popular that many people began purchasing all types of Cologne, books, toys, clothes and other items on the morning of Cyber Monday in order to be able to sell them later on. A Trend is generally considered a valid trend if it is continuing over a period of time and is not simply a reaction to an earlier trend. The key to successful use of a Trend is to understand its history and how it came to be.

The earliest known use of a Trend is found on 4chan, an online bulletin board. There, users create pictures or small messages containing topical references (usually images) which are then voted on and posted to the site. At first, these pictures were merely drawings or simple messages. However, as the trend continued to evolve, other types of media such as YouTube were introduced to add to the pool of possibilities.

The earliest types of Trends that I have found are humorously created concepts. One of the earliest examples of this is a video called "Hamster Taxes." The video features a driver in an airport getting various taxes shoved down his backside. The joke is that while all the drivers shove the taxes, the only one who gets out alive is the hamster.

A more recent Trend is a silly argument. A common argument in all types of Trends is whether or not a person should buy or sell a stock based on the advice given to them by a website. For example, one argument on a trading website says that if a person wants to buy stock XYZ they should listen to this article because it is written based on direct experience. This Trend is referred to as "The T-rumor."

A third offshoot of the previous two is "meme." A "meme" is a short statement that is meant to be a lasting statement. A popular medium for posting a "meme" is on MySpace. Sites such as WordPress offer you the opportunity to make your own collection of pictures and post them to your MySpace page, thereby creating your own collection of "memes." This is a very popular trend as well.

All three of these are a part of the larger Trend, which is termed "PC Memes." All three of these trends have had a significant impact on the internet, and all three will likely continue to impact the internet for quite some time. PC Memes are here to stay. And now is the time to get into them!

The key to being successful in any Trend is knowing how to recognize it. It's not enough to be able to read the title or short description; you have to know the essential facts of that Trend. What are its goals? Is it looking to bring in new customers or is it trying to establish a following among long-term users of that Trend? Who is the target market? How are you going to establish contact with them?

Once you recognize a Trend, you need to be able to identify the value in it. Are there any business opportunities associated with it? If so, how much can they be leveraged? How do other people get involved? Once you understand the value inherent in a Trend, you'll be in an excellent position to capitalize on it.

Once you have recognized a Trend as valuable, you must determine how you are going to leverage it. Do you build sites around it? Or use sites associated with it to bring traffic to your own site? One of the great things about Memes is that you can let just about anything (even copyrighted materials) circulate orally on the internet, so long as you give proper attribution. This gives you the ability to quickly monetize your efforts by selling advertising space to related businesses or even directly selling your own products.

At the end of the article my recommendation - check out just do it memes generator. It is great.
